Territory Manager – Sales & Merchandising
Downtown Core – Toronto
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Outside Sales this position is responsible for working closely with deli managers and store level operation’s team to ensure customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for ensuring all Summer Fresh and Private Label products produced by Summer Fresh have on shelf availability. This is a “roll up your sleeves” type of role and must provide store level merchandising support, up selling, and compliance checks. In person visits are essential to our success at Summer Fresh, ensuring our products are available, well merchandised and provide an “ease of shop” for the Consumers. Maintaining and developing strong store level relationships with all key stakeholders such as deli managers, deli specialists and store managers are critical.
Key Accountabilities:
- Recommend, sell, upsell (to 100% capacity) company product through education and using fact base data to a defined list of customers during store visits during call cycle
- Source new customer opportunities
- Troubleshoot customer or product issues, report any problems to management
- Respond to customer inquiries; research and rectify customer concerns and issues, reporting as appropriate to management
- Provide Customers with information to achieve best possible merchandising position
- Provide Customers with proper product information regarding upcoming promotions and advertised items
- Communicate via email/telephone with direct manager any required updates or concerns
- Work closely with Inside Sales Team to increase customer sales
- Maintain records of all visits and issues
- Attend and assist in Food Shows as required
- Attend meetings and seminars as required
- Conform to company policies and procedures
- Provide back up and support to colleagues as needed for vacation
- Work on special projects and other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
- Post-secondary education or directly relevant experience
- 3+ year’s previous experience within sales, preferably CPG, consumables
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office), familiarity with CRM
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Excellent prioritization skills
- Ability to effectively interact with people at all levels
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to act with discretion, patience and diplomacy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Effective team player
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
